R1.Bio-Integrated Soft Electrode Array and its Mechanics-Electrophysiology Coupling: To develop bio-integrated (epidermal/implantable) soft electrode arrays for capturing high-fidelity, high-density electrophysiology signals(EMG/ECG/EEG) and study the mechanics-electrophysiology coupling of the soft electrode arrays with soft tissues (muscle, heart and brain) for innovative applications in sports science and rehabilitation engineering (Figure 1).
R2. Tunable and Deployable Electromagnetic Metasurfaces: To develop tunable and deployable lightweight electromagnetic metasurfaces on space based on mechanics reconfigurable structures and study the deformation mechanism and electromagnetic responses of the metasurfaces. (Figure 2).
R3. Biomimetic Intelligent Robots: To develop biomimetic intelligent robots integrated with soft, deformable sensing array for achieving smart interactions with their surrounding environments (Figure 3).
